This is the 7th Carrera Speedster and one of only 13 Pre A Carrera Speedsters produced.
Most of the 13 were produced at the very end of the1955 Pre A production and were technically
produced during the 1956 production year and thus were stamped with a 1956 production date.
This car had some special modifications that were common to most of these early Carreras,
including, dual front transaxle mounts, a front steering damper, and full tarpaper sound
insulation throughout.
This car is fortunate to still have its original engine
and transaxle, and is being restored to its original color combination.
Per the customer’s request, we made a few changes to improve the performance and drivability.
These include:
12V electrical system
60mm Spyder front brakes
WR Dual Circuit Brake Kit
Engine conversion to 1800cc
WR 17.5mm Sport Swaybar Kit
WR CDI Ignition hidden under the passengers footwell
Close ratio BAEA 741 gearing with a GT torque biasing differential all in the original 519 magnesium housing.
